“If the bee disappears from the surface of the earth, man would have no more than four years to live?”
That was Albert Einstein, the greatest scientist on earth. Everyone likes honey, but has anyone cared to know, how much bees toil to get us a teaspoon of honey? Simply put, honey bees collect the pollen and nectar from flowers when the plants are in full bloom during the spring season. Their long tubular structured proboscis helps them suck the nectar which is stored in their stomach till they carry it to the beehive. While in the stomach, the nectar gets mixed with the proteins and enzymes thus converting the nectar into honey.
Before dwelling further, here are some interesting facts:
- A bee can fly up to 6 miles and a worker bee produces about 1/12thteaspoon of honey in her entire lifetime.
- A hive of bees flies about 90000 miles (equivalent to three orbits around the earth) to make 1 kilo of honey.
- The honey is so energy-filled that just an ounce of honey is required for bees to make one orbit around the earth.
At Jaza honey, we don’t toil that much. Our intention is noble; to give the purest form of honey to people. Initially, we started our journey by producing organic food products in our own organic farms. That was the period when people were barely aware of organic products. Our tryst with nature gave us some insight into bees and honey.
No doubt, we clung to the opportunity provided by GOD, to serve mankind with the most pristine honey. For this purpose, we started maintaining our own beehives in their natural environment. With our professional training in bee-keeping, we monitor, protect and talk to the bees providing them an atmosphere of safety and trust and protecting them from alien and natural intrusion and invasion.
